State contract and bid audit

What Mississippi publishes on vendors and bids

Pulled on the last sweep from the Department of Finance and Administration contract search, the bid and public notice search, and the DFA contract family pages.

On the map

The file is the public search, not every purchase order in MAGIC.

  1. Search a vendor, a MAGIC number, a buyer, or a city. The roster is the contract file.
  2. Green dots are vendors whose public address is a Mississippi city. The county is the county that city sits in. The contract file does not name a county.
  3. Bids stay in the roster. Every bid row in this pull had a blank agency city, so they are not pinned to the map.
  4. DFA pages are the competitive, statewide, cooperative, and preapproved lists. A row marked not in the empty search grid was on the page and did not come back from the contract search.
  5. Each card links to the official detail page and to the MAGIC PDF when the record has one.

What you can pull out

  1. A person's name, office, county, and party when the source file has one.
  2. Who else sits in that same county.
  3. Who is tied to more than one county: courts, shared offices, the Senate, and the district commissions.
  4. A search across 2,475 people. The directory has 2,886 rows because some people are listed once in each county they serve.
  5. The official campaign report desk for that office. State, legislative, and judicial seats open the Secretary of State search. County seats name the circuit clerk, because those reports are filed on paper and are not in the state search.
  6. A details box on every person: the offices in the April 29, 2026 directory, then live searches (office site when one is on file, IRS, ProPublica, OpenSecrets, state spending, contracts, federal awards, and court search). A search is not a hit. Pay, past offices, businesses, nonprofit seats, lawsuits, and grants are marked Missing when the directory does not contain them.
  7. The gap, stated plainly: city councils, mayors, and nonprofit boards are not in this file.

How to move through the set

  1. Open the map. Drag to move. Pinch, scroll, or use the zoom buttons.
  2. Turn layers on and off: Courts, Shared, Senate, Districts, People.
  3. Click a county. The roster narrows to the people tied to it.
  4. Click a dot or a name. The card lists the offices, the counties, and the campaign report desk.
  5. Gold is a court. Teal is a shared office. Light lines are the Senate.
  6. A star drawn from Jackson is a statewide officer. Reset brings the whole state back.

The Mississippi shelf

Visit patterns on this Mississippi set are counted for the publisher: page, time, clicks, and city when the host reports one. Names are not collected. The read-out is not on this site.
